London Bridge Station

London Bridge is one of the busiest public transport hubs in Central London. It is served by tube, National Rail, and buses. It is located in Southwark on the south bank of the Thames, next to London Bridge, a bridge that gave its name to the station and also the whole surrounding area. You can easily find London Bridge Station even from a distance, thanks to the newly built skyscraper, the Shard, the tallest building in London.

London Bridge Railway Station

London Bridge is served mainly by trains connecting Central London with South London, Kent, the south coast, and other areas to the south of London. Primary operators include First Capital Connect, Southeastern, and Southern. It is one of the oldest train stations in the world, first opened in 1836, although there were many changes in ownership, services, and the station’s design since that time.

London Bridge Tube Station

London Bridge Station is served by two tube lines:

  • Northern Line, Bank branch – London Bridge is between Borough and Bank
  • Jubilee Line – between Southwark and Bermondsey

It is one of the busiest tube stations in London. Interestingly, it is also the only station in the whole network with the word “London” in its name.

London Bridge Bus Station and Bus Stops

There is a big bus station – London Bridge Bus Station – located right in front of the railway station’s entrance, next to the Shard and New London Bridge House. Many buses terminate here.

There are also several other bus stops nearby:

  • Southwark, London Bridge Borough High Street (directly at the beginning of London Bridge – the bridge)
  • The Borough, Guy’s Hospital (in St. Thomas Street)
  • Hays Galleria (in Tooley Street)

London Bridge Pier

London Bridge Pier is located on the Thames next to London Bridge Hospital. It is served by the Commuter Service of London River Services. Destinations include Embankment (upstream), Canary Wharf, Greenwich, and O2 Arena (all downstream).
