Münster Main Train Station (Münster-Hauptbahnhof) is the central station for Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany.
Generally, all long-distance trains (like IC or EC) call at Münster Train Station. There are also a few high-speed ICE trains daily – Münster is on the railway line Hamburg – Bremen – Dortmund – Cologne. Neighbouring stops on most long-distance trains are Osnabrück Hbf and Dortmund Hbf. There are also daily direct services between Münster and Berlin.
Besides long-distance trains there are also numerous regional trains for nearby destinations like Düsseldorf, Krefeld, Dortmund, or Bielefeld.
The train station is located at Berliner Platz, about 10-15 minutes walk from Rathaus, Münster Cathedral, and Domplatz (the main square). It is in the south-eastern part of Münster city centre, just behind the former city walls (and today’s ring street). Streets near Münster Train Station have quite appropriate names, like Bahnhofstrasse (Train Station Street) or Eisenbahnstrasse (Railroad Street).
