Hannover Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) is located in Hannover city centre, between the districts Mitte (Centre) and Oststadt (East Town). It is possible to enter the train station from both sides:

  • From the north-east from Raschplatz.

On both sides, the area surrounding Hannover Train Station is very lively, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and hotels. Many streets, especially on the Mitte side, are pedestrian only.

You can get to the main train station by vast majority of Hannover tram lines. There is one tram stop on the north-eastern side – Hauptbahnhof stop in Berliner Allee – and another tram stop in Mitte – named Kröpcke.
