Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (Hbf.) is the main train station for Dortmund, Germany. It is an important junction of both long distance and regional trains. Long distance services include the InterCity Express (ICE) high-speed trains, InterCity, and EuroCity. Dortmund Train Station has train connections with most of the big German cities, including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, or Munich, and some cities in other countries including Vienna, Basel, or Chur.
Dortmund Train Station is also served by the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn regional train network – it is the terminus of lines S1, S2, and S5.
The train station is located in the very centre of Dortmund, on Königswall, which is the north-western section of the circle street (former city walls) that goes around the little historical centre. Virtually any place in the inner city is within 10-15 minutes walk from the station at maximum.
