Stuttgart Train Station (Hauptbahnhof)

Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) is the main railway and public transport junction in the city. It is served by all kinds of trains (including ICE, TGV, IC, and regional trains), Stuttgart S-Bahn (local railway), and U-Bahn (metro).

Stuttgart has direct high speed train connections with most big German cities. Popular nearby train destinations include Frankfurt am Main, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Ulm, or Munich. More distant destinations include for example Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Paris, or Zurich.

Stuttgart Train Station Location

Stuttgart Train Station is located at Arnulf-Klett-Platz in the city centre, north of Mitte, north-east of Universität, south of Europaviertel, and west of Kernelviertel. It is one S-Bahn stop from Stadtmitte. Major streets near the train station include Heilbronner Strasse, Friedrichstrasse, and Kriegsbergstrasse in the west, and Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse and Willy-Brandt-Strasse in the east. There is a large park on the eastern side of the station – Schlossgarten.
